Superette

A new chapter in a flagship location for a New Zealand fashion favourite.

An anchor site in Commercial Bay’s brand new retail precinct provided a blank canvas on which to evolve the design language for this fast-growing lifestyle destination brand.

The brand’s raw and monochromatic aesthetic is given a sharp new edge through the introduction of a contemporary palette of deep, saturated tones blending raw and refined materials, punctuated with acid yellow.

Exploration of typical customer journeys helped to define men’s, women’s and shared zones, with the point of sale providing the central anchor point, and folded perforated ceiling panels overlaying a geometric rigour above. A flexible custom-designed perimeter wall system defines the retail space from the lounge and support spaces, whilst also acting as an adaptable gallery on which to facilitate easy, intuitive and legible merchandising.

The progressive material language celebrates the rawness of concrete, marrying it with solid surface material, stainless steel, rubber, glass and the inventive use of raw poplar blockboard, softened by saturated green flooring and structured drapery.
