A vibrant new language for an iconic Australian artisan chocolate brand.

Following Koko Black’s change of ownership in 2019, a comprehensive new brand language was developed to reimagine the in-store experience of premium artisan chocolate.

Working under DesignOffice’s brand and collaboration focused umbrella of Platform, the team worked with Studio Round to deliver a new vision for the client to contemporise and extend on its unique brand heritage.

The response creates a heightened, immersive world of discovery and fun. Retail spaces are defined by playful, hyper-saturated colours, bespoke shelving and merchandising podiums, with neon lighting in geometric forms echoing Koko Black’s logo. Spatial plans encourage connection with staff and intuitive circulation in a non-hierarchical environment where visitors are free to browse at their leisure.

Platform by DesignOffice used a strategic design approach to create the new language across Koko Black’s Melbourne Town Hall, Como South Yarra and The Glen stores.
