Effortless flexibility to showcase recent developments and local artists
More Information Less InformationLocated within a simple warehouse shell in Collingwood, the Otter Display Gallery occupies the developer client’s former offices. A cost effective and considered re-modelling of the space creates a versatile gallery and events space designed to concurrently function as a renewable display suite to market the current offer.
The brief from the client, a progressive developer and long term collaborator, called for the creation of a versatile gallery space suited to hosting events, talks and exhibitions whilst also working as a display suite to showcase Otter Place, the client’s most recent development project with the design team.
Solid oak floors and white plaster walls define an elegantly proportioned interior, embracing the generous existing windows and adding new sources of daylight from the rear through the creation of a new opening to the boundary, obscured by fluted glass.
A custom folded 10m long angled steel shelf is paired with a 6m long table of oak and burgundy linoleum providing extensive surfaces to accommodate sales collateral and exhibition content, initially a display of architectural models and images to mark the client’s first decade.
Adjacent, a bespoke kitchen of granite and oak, works to both support the gallery and showcase Otter Place with a fully functional display suite kitchen.
