A concise distillation of the architectural elements and lifestyle attributes that collectively defined the Park & Raphael houses.
More Information Less InformationWorking with project collaborators (Studio HiHo, Urban Commons, Tait and Great Dane Furniture), DesignOffice were engaged to create a display suite within an existing warehouse on the Abbotsford site where the 19 luxury townhouses were being constructed.
Approaching from Park Street, visitors entered into an urban garden showcasing the outdoor kitchen: Tilt, designed by Urban Commons and Tait. From here, a suite of glazed timber doors with a blackened finish formed the threshold to the interior.
The perimeter of the interior was conceived as a simple vessel, lined in 2 subtle shades of painted plaster, providing a waist-high datum which brought the eye down to a residential scale. The architectural elements of the townhouse interiors and display suite collateral were removed from this lining and sat independently on the honed concrete floor.
Large oak timber structures and leaning panels framed the marketing images and formed a family of crafted elements connecting back to the Great Dane furniture and the tactility of the interior palette.
