Mud Australia Byron Bay

The 6th Australian store for the iconic handmade porcelain brand reflects its relaxed, lifestyle-driven location in the Habitat Byron Bay development, in a confident, welcoming and immersive retail experience. 

As somewhat of a blank canvas, the brief called for a space that showcased the distinctive collection, imbued with the brand’s warm, elegant and tactile character. An enhanced window zone adds depth and drama, forming two engaging display vitrines. Inside, a unified customer experience is guided through an insertion of wall linings and a timber joinery wall that houses the point of sale, storage, dinner setting showcase and stock room. Simple, yet tactile, bulletin board forms the backdrop to Vitsoe shelving, surrounded by timber and veneer panels to create a cocoon that evokes the warmth and familiarity of the Mud brand; whilst an Armadillo Rug, Coco Flip table with custom terrazzo top made from recycled Mud porcelain chips and a custom designed Everyday Table by DesignOffice continue the elegant and tactile narrative.
