Reinvigorating an iconic Melbourne showroom for an enhanced customer experience

More Information Less Information

An elevated customer experience is achieved through contemporary revisions of the entry and reception — along with a new lift providing seamless access across this iconic multi-level showroom.

Activating the journey from the streetscape, new impactful illuminated signage and a new layering of the external façade draws customers in. At the human scale, an enhanced sense of arrival is created through a landscape of granite planters that provide visual and tactile touchpoints for visitors.

Inside, the reception area is repositioned to provide a better connection with customers, including a separate adjacent module that provides dedicated space for in-depth consultation. A new lift requiring a complicated surgical incision across four floors is made to feel like it was always there — an elegant intervention providing improved access for customers and a safer, more seamless flow throughout the building.

A textural palette of rough render, granite and stainless steel marries with the tactility of crafted timber joinery. Whilst presenting a refined solidity from the exterior, the metal batten façade cladding throws dappled light inside, layering the interior experience with a changing, permeable effect.
