Oscar Wylee’s first Melbourne store is an oasis amid the bustle of Melbourne Central.

The Sydney-based eyewear group sought a relaxed retail space to facilitate seamless customer service and optical care. A confident entryway, featuring plaster block walls and a terracotta-toned rubber bulkhead, provides a sense of arrival and crucial buffer from the mall environment. Inside, a neutral base of grey rubber, stainless steel and white plaster is offset by cobalt blue and soft furnishings in bottle green and terracotta.

Sculptural timber shelves showcase Oscar Wylee’s collection of frames, brought further into focus by bold horizontal datums from above and below.
