Congress

At the base of Peel by Milieu in Collingwood sits Congress, a wine and espresso bar for the inner north.

Though a destination in its own right, the venue is intended as an informal extension of the apartments above, also by DesignOffice – a shared living room aligned with Milieu’s democratic values. The venue is defined by a double height dark-stained timber wall, which both distinguishes and connects Congress to the adjacent apartment entrance. Positioned at the point of arrival, booth windows bring moments of conversation to the fore. 

With careful lighting design and a considered variety of seating arrangements to suit solo diners, intimate meetings and larger gatherings alike, Congress has become a valuable hub for meaningful connection.
