A permanent Collingwood home for the progressive developer activating the streetscape of their Otter Place development.
More Information Less InformationMilieu’s new office occupies the ground levels of their Otter Place development in Melbourne’s inner north. The split level workplace responds to the diverse needs of the their team whilst creating an animated visual anchor within the building and activating the Collingwood streetscape.
Milieu wanted a workplace which reflected their values, demonstrated their commitment to design, and supported their working rhythms and needs. Occupying the entire frontage of one of their major projects provided an opportunity to ensure presence and connection with their community.
The envelope is defined by a full width double height space with 2 more intimate levels tucked to the rear. This light-filled primary volume is the core working environment accommodating workbenches and providing direct connection with the street.
Adjacent and above, are a series of support spaces including the kitchen, lounge, boardroom, meeting rooms, booths and EOT amenities. Entry from the street is provided at the mid level, with a layered landscape of steps connecting a suite of occupiable spaces in-between.
A rich, warm and enduring palette anchored by timber, cork and concrete is layered with linoleum, bulletin board, rubber and stainless steel.
